    I transfered some wiiware from the wii internal memory to my SD card

    Everything plays ok

    But where are the transfered wiiware located on the SD card?

    I can't seem to find any, are they hidden somehow

    How can I get at them?

    They are located in a folder called "private".
    Everything transfered from the wii like save files, pictures or wiiware/vc games are in it.

    Thanks for the reply

    All I see in the private folder seems to be game saves

    Folders with content.bin files in them

    There are no actual wiiware games

    Because I moved one game back to the wii memory and the same folder are still in the private folder

    The wiiware games ARE in those content.bin files, they're obviously encrypted. I think you thought you'd see wads?
    Save files are data.bin btw.

    Wii saves and channels copied from the system menu are encrypted.
    Data.bin = saves
    content.bin = Wiiware/VC/channels

    Thanks dude for the great help

    One more question tho

    My wii 4.2 is softmod

    Can I just put those folders (wiiware games) in someone elses softmod wii sd card folder and those games will play on their wii?

    Or is it best to put my sd card in their wii, transfer them to their wii memory, then to their Sd card

    Would both ways work?

    No. They will only work for your wii.

    There's a reason people use wads to pirate Wiiware instead of content.bin files. The content.bin files are encrypted so that they only work on your wii.

    I don't think that will work at all, since it is missing tickets from the Wii.

    But if it do work, then "someone" else Wii needs to have their System IOS patched.

    Trucha patching the other Wii's system IOS wouldn't be enough. content.bin is encrypted with the console's SD key and/or some other key that makes it work only on the console of origin.

    I am starting to get this now..

    I thought if I bought wiiware through the shopping channel, they would only work on my wii

    How come downloaded wiiware games works on everyones wii, including mine?

    I guess when you buy them they come encrypted

    But how do they end up as wad files when i d/l them

    Is it really complicated to turn wiiware into wad files?

    You have to use a WAD creator app such as Bluedump with fakesigning, or dump your NAND and use an app like Showmiiwads on your PC to create the WAD.

    I don't know how it works but whatever you want to install on someone's wii, why don't you just download it? There's dozens of websites with wads.
