Isn't the link for USB Memory Sticks only and not SD cards? Whereas, conversely, the Panasonic formatter is for SD cards only.

no cause the HP prog formatted my backup hard drive just fine

I've formatted a USB hard drive, a microSD card, and an SDHC card with the HP format tool - I'm pretty sure it'll work with anything you throw at it. Hell, it even formatted my 1 GB Kingston microSD after it got corrupted somewhere between my phone and loading it on my computer and Windows wouldn't do anything with it at all.
