Hi All,

I am a newbie to ps3 jailbreak and i was wondering if ps3 edit was the best tool to change the sfo files?
If not can someone please help me with another tool or programme i need to do this?
Also is it true i change this so the ps3 thinks it has a newer firmware even when it does not?

Cheers

What seems to be the problem? If you're using the latest payloads and latest Gaia Manager, then you don't need to edit the files for 3.42 games. There are patches for a few 3.50 games, but most 3.50 games won't work. You can't trick the ps3 into thinking it is running 3.50 because you need the 3.50 SDK to run games. It won't work.

Update to 3.41!
You will need to contact shoptemp for the password for the flashing software. The will give you instructions on how to use their board and which payloads to use.

What is the game called?

Ok on the software i got from shoptemp it has the following:

1/.blank.bkr
2/.openpsjailbreak.bkr
3/.psgroove.bkr
4/.psjailbreaker v1.0

Are these payloads or gaia manager?
Can you please explain what i need to add to the usb to get my games to work.
Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Unfortunately, I have never used shoptemp software. They should give you instructions.
Here's the latest Gaia Manager: Link
Put the .pkg file on the root of a USB flashdrive, and install the package from the *Install Package Files* option on the jailbroken ps3.

Edit: Download Gaia_V1.04.1.zip and copy only the UP0001-GAIA01985_00-7679866932773369-GAMEZ.pkg on the root of your flashdrive.

Thanks Sephxus.
So i put the .pkg from Gaia on the root of the flash drive correct.
So the above files must be payloads i think ???
I upgrade to 3.41 and the gaia manager will patch the games.
Now is there any special directory i need to put the games in?
And does the drive need to be formatted in ntfs or fat32?
I also read somewhere that it will not read bigger then 4gb but there is a special programme that splits the file to get around this?

Cheers

You need to create a GAMEZ directory. Put your backups there.
Internal HDD needs NTFS Format. External device needs Fat32 format.
You can transfer games with files larger than 4gb by using an FTP Client/Server.
I recommend using FileZilla: Link
Gaia Manager has a built in FTP just enable it by pressing R1.
