download

extract only the _dstwoplug folder (not the _MACOSX folder) to the root of your microsd card

find the mother ROM, place that on your microsd card

boot up your dstwo, boot into nesDS, find your mother ROM where ever you placed it

enjoy

Use one of the later nesDS versions by huiminghao. They have lots of fixes and other nice features such as configurable hotkeys (for save states, changing renderer, loading a new rom, etc), auto sram saves, light gun support, swap screen support (play on the bottom screen, useful for light gun emulation), and so on.

Good choice. Yeah. NESDS is the BEST emulator out there for NES, enjoy it (the latest builds all have the freeze from MOTHER fixed).

If you're playing on DSTWO, may I suggest trying it out on the GBA emulator? the MOTHER 1+2 GBA version runs full speed with game_config.txt and it has a lot of added features (both the original Japanese and Mato's translated version) including "L checking/talking/etc." like in MOTHER 2 and 3, better menus, RUNNING (absent from original MOTHER, saves you lots of time), added ending, and so much more.

Depends if he was talking about Mother or EarthBound Zero.

Absolutely true, but that's why I tried to cover all bases since he said "MOTHER 1" and not Earthbound Zero or just MOTHER, it's kinda hard to tell.

OP, care to elaborate? If you need help setting anything up I can help you, Bro.

Some people prefer to say Mother since it's the game's actual name and it wasn't officially released in USA.

    How are you doing?

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
