Gaming Where are you at in Zelda PH?

Just out of that little first cave after you get the sword. I just got it today, but my DS is pretty much dead, and my charger is at my other house so I can't play it right now.

well, I decided to see what all the hype was about...early this morning at 2am. Figured I'd just give her a quick spin and wound up not getting to sleep until 8ish...

I'm up to some kind of courage temple.

I generally like the handheld zeldas, especially the capcom ones, the 3d ones and I have *never* gotten along. I wasn't sure about it at first and wasn't planning on ever playing it. But it's doing well.

Granted the overall plot is a little silly, and just when I don't think the game could get any easier something decides to explain an obvious puzzle. It's a good journey though, and I'm kind of liking chasing all over in a boat. (that whole thing with "zelda" is really stupid, and what's link's motivation--for anything relating to saving her?)

I've got more complaints about this zelda than previous handheld zeldas, but this is probably the first one I'm going to finish.

Did you shut the DS and give up, (a little like Theorgan)? Then come back to it later? (Shutting the lid to stamp the map is what you have to do.

That's all I had to do? I nearly tore my touch screen in two trying to scratch a crest in. I would have never guess to do that. Thanks for clearing that up.

I'm at the ice dungeon, I fakkin hate ice dungeons, way too much sliding... I guess that's the point but I can't seem to trigger the 4 markers in the right amount of time.

Same place, I couldn't stand that stupid goron island, though the dual team was a bit fun ( and new! ).

I finished it, but I didn't do many of the side quests. I'll probably play through it again soon.

Same here. I never was ga-ga over OoT, and though Wind Waker, too, is fun and clever, it's the camera system that never agreed with me. But Phantom Hourglass is a perfect medium. The top-down perspective makes the 3D work so well.

I've only ever finished OOT and loved it, although I played it through the PC on emulator,
Try controlling analog sticks with the keyboard

I never tried a 2d Zelda yet tho, but I like the top down perspective,controls are beautiful. Im glad they didn't make it from over the shoulder perspective, controls would have been awkward, maybe next time...im open

on topic..... Who has been fishing in the game ? I just recently discovered it, caught anything awesome ?

That's news to me. How exactly do you get to do that? I finished the game and am halfway through my second playthrough, and never discovered that option.

it would have been harder if you couldnt see into other areas (over "walls") like seeing a treasure chest, in a 3-d game like OoT you dont see where the chests are THAT is what makes it soo much harder you cant see into other room without being inside of them... Awesome game though! whats the third part for the boat btw???

My progress; Cleaning up... still have to find one heart piece and one courage gem. Have about 70% ship parts

I just got the 3rd fairy thing and I'm supposed to hunt down the ghost ship now. I'm also supposed to find that mermaid.

One little fact I'm kinda proud of is that I haven't needed to use any kind of help or walkthrough to get this far.

About how far through the game am I? As in a general percentage.

I'm at the part where yer elbow and neck gets really sore from playing that game on yer back with the edge of the DS resting on yer chest. Nintendo definitely didn't think that part through... I understand their is a patch that makes the game playable though.

I am just past the first boss. Pain made me have to stop playing.

Damn I got fed up having to go back to the temple, after the ghost ship, and stopped playing all week! ("Rescued" the four sisters and everything!

)

Thankfully I haven't had to use a walkthrough/cheat...got "stuck" a couple of times (didn't realise you could jump gaps...that sure took a while to figure out!) , but eventually managed to work it out.

I just have to finish this game!

Anywayz going back to fight my way through NOW...wish me luck!!!
