Just got a red one from bestbuy in store, Massachusetts. It's 9.4 9-21u

Edit: No I didn't open it in bestbuy or even connect to the Internet yet.

Please post a picture. Nobody's done that for a 9.4 system yet. (S/N if you can too)

They are on 9.4, not 9.5. They were either made with 9.4 in factory or updated pre-Feb 2nd when 9.5 came out.



Yikes. Maybe post a picture of the FW and redacted receipt so people believe you. I think you would be the first US person to get one or did I miss someone? Still red though.

Congratulations on being the first confirmed owner of a 9.4 firmware New 3DS in the United States.

But seriously, if people are finding 9.4 consoles in the US than it is likely that the only 9.0 N3DS's are out there now and the next shipments could very well be 9.4.

There is no way to tell but by the Serial Number now.
QW1000-4000 so far are safe, we NEED the serial numbers of those 9.4U 3DS' to be sure which ones to avoid.

Dude, there is no sticker seal on them. Reformat the system, put it back in the box how it was originally, take that sucker back, and tell em you never opened it! That sucks to see though... nintendo moved super fast this time around.

I think all the MM XLs have been confirmed to be 9.0 and MH ones to be 9.2. It is only the red XLs that have been popping up with 9.4.

It was definitely a stab in the dark, I'm not sure how the Nintendo hotspots work but I always keep my network switch off when going out

I think all the US/EU N3DS boxes should say copyright 2015, they'll be the same until they revise the packaging in 2016. It's the serial and it looks like >4025 might mean 9.4
