Christmas 1989 - Super Mario 2. Since my bday is only 5-days after Christmas, my silly parents decided to give me a new bike for Christmas and saved the game for my b-day present. They said I didn't even look at the bike and just kept opening all the little presents looking for Mario 2. When it wasn't there I just kept muttering Mario 2. Finally my mom told my sister, "Isn't there one more present up stairs?" And so b/c I am a bratty kid who apparently spent all Christmas Eve dreaming of Mario 2 (and reading Nintendo Power magazine), I received my bday present early that year. :rofl2:

    My daughter has received 3DS/new 3DS (2011 & 2015) :yay3ds:
And the Switch last year :yayswitch:

Christmas 2008 was the best for me.

My parents gave me a PS3 and my uncle gave me a Nintendo Wii. I was ABSOLUTELY NOT expecting that. I almost cried. Best feeling ever.

My favorite xmas gaming moments have been when lulzsec or whatever and other hacker kiddie groups took down psn and xbl on xmas day. I was never hurt or angry by it, i loved they had the balls and commitment to actually do it and get back at sony for the removal of otherOS and the attack on geohot. Plus its showed and led to the sony unencrypted user credit card info on psn exploit and forced their hand to fix it.

Back in 2012, I had opened all my presents and was fairly satisfied. Then, my mom brings out 3 more, one for me and one for each of my siblings: Nintendo 3DS XLs. We were all so excited, and we each got a game with them. I don't have it anymore since it broke, but I have a 2DS now with all those games and more! :)

Every year for Christmas my dad used to get me a few games for my Gamecube, then one year I was opening all my presents and I was confused because all of them were ps2 games, I almost cried because I thought my dad got confused and got me a bunch of games that I couldn't play but when I opened the last present there was a ps2 slim in there. I have a lot of great memories with that console

The year I got a PS2, they turned the gift giving into a treasure hunt, with riddles and whatnot.
I ended up getting something like 8 games for the PS2 that year, though a few of them were games I only played a couple times, while others like KH1 I'm still replaying to this day.

The first year I asked for a remote control TV from Santa, I got a Nintendo Entertainment System, which came bundled with Super Mario/Duck Hunt. Back then my hand-eye coordination was not great. Video games greatly improved it.

For several years in a row, I had a Remote control TV on my letter to Santa, but the year that I didn't have it on, I had Asked for a Super Nintendo, got the TV instead.

My Favorite Christmas gaming story was actaully this year

so about 2 months ago me and my dad took a quick trip to the local value village (thrift store) and as usually it didnt look like any consoles/computers were there, until i spotted a black cooler- master case. we made a deal where he would buy it in return he'd give it to me for christmas, with more ram and a hard drive. i was cool with this because we assumed the two ram sticks on this early 2010s computer were 2x 2gb, and i wanted 8gb. so yesterday morning came around and i set it up with win7 x64 and was very satisfied with the amd fx 6300 and the 8gbs of ram. but later i was playing some counter strike on it, and noticed one of the ram sticks werent properly socketed, so i rebooted, resocketed it and didnt give it a second thought. i was later on a call with my cousion and he wanted to see the about page on my new pc, so i opened up control panel and noticed the ram changed to 12gb! of course i freaked out that my ram was higher than i thought, but it might of been a glitch, so i went into my bios and there it was, 12gb of ram! so it turns out it already had 8gb and we actually upgraded my new pc to a full 12gbs!

    so that was fun

I still remember the Christmas morning where I opened my gifts and got a Glacier Gameboy Advance,a copy of Pokemon Ruby and an E-reader.No one else in my home even likes Pokemon even now but my dad still decided I was getting all that after I had enjoyed Red and Crystal so much.We weren't exactly well off then but mom and dad still made sure Christmas was unforgettable every year.Have a good new year everyone!

Hmm... I'm sort of jealous. We barely celebrated Christmas, and the Christmas with my girlfriend is... Worse, if I'm honest (please don't tell her that :().

We celebrated with a fancy dinner. And at best with a (fake) Christmas tree. The thing is : I didn't really know better (st Nicholas is a different story, but it's at december 6th). As such, I didn't miss it. Worse : at my (current) girlfriend's family there 's this tradition to buy something of 10-15 bucks at most, and from a list of your choosing. I'm always annoyed, as I'm used to just buying what I really want, so rather than anticipation I've got to come up with something small to buy for myself, which I can then send someone out to buy me with a delay (and if this sounds cynical, then don't get me started on birthdays. I've got a very nice and friendly inlaw family, but man are they terrible at picking gifts).

... But okay : there's one fond memory from my childhood. Can't really recall much but some shreds, but it was good. See... The family on my father's side celebrated, and we joined them (must've been 30 or more years ago). Two of our nephews got some toys (I remember some sort of mechanical robot - dragon) that were really meant to play together. So me and my brother joined in. It was a blast.
Looking back, I had no idea why I didn't felt jealousy. I just felt happy just to join in on the fun. That's all. :)

EDIT: damn... Forgot my actual best Christmas... It was two or three years ago. The whole 'presents' thing I mentioned earlier had passed. But I had some board games with me. Taught my 2 (Inlaw) nephews how to play dixit and Catan. We had a blast doing it.
Granted, it was only accidentally Christmas and had nothing to do with the presents, but it was absolutely my best gaming moment at Christmas day. :)

I was nine or ten when my grandparents bought me and my brother our first console for Christmas, a SNES. I had pretty much the same look on my face as the kid pictured in the OP. I had learned to use the family's DOS computer maybe two or three years earlier, so I had played some video games previously, but SNES was a whole new level of detail, color, and polish. I spent most of the next four years walking back and forth between our house and the local rental place (not Blockbuster) a couple blocks away, where you could rent games for 3 days for about $5. They also sold used games at good prices, so I'd occasionally buy after saving up my allowance. Anyway, that's definitely the system that built up my love of gaming, and then later the advent of 3D gaming solidified it.
