Considering the amount of guest viewing our site at any given moment and how quickly most companies seem to update to fix the hacks. I wouldn't be surprised if all the gaming companies are watching this site. Hell it would be stupid for them not to watch this site really. We are one of the biggest sites about this stuff and really we get a lot of news a lot faster than most sites, GBAtemp is both a threat and a saving grace to them.

No, he's not sure about that. Nintendo refuses to sell at a loss, and the 3DS is no exception.
Iwata said they were not profitable with the 3DS, because the slow start didn't let them ramp up production to where economies of scale really start to matter. He expects the 3DS to be profitable starting April. (Source)

There's a difference between selling at a loss and simply being profitable.

Of course Nintendo, Sony and MS would spend a great deal of time on this site and others. Why to you think Sony yanked motostorm from PSN so quickly?

According to Bloomberg in Japan, since the price cut the 3DS is now being sold at a loss

This in itself is not bad news as its not uncommon for hardware to be sold at a loss whilst reouping the loss on the software sold for it. It is unusual for Nintendo however as I think this is the first time they have sold hardware at a loss.

So, maybe a reason why nintendo and other companies are able to block all these hacking things is because they read these forums? D: Maybe they have bought all the flash cards and everything! Or maybe you guys already knew this, and therefore this is a complete waste of time/space. lol.

uhm..you did not know this? For sure they check the Scene and buy all devices, so they can reverse engine them (if its not open source), to block all stuff.

Correct. Also, Nintendo selling hardware at a loss is not unprecedented. It also happened, when they sold the Gamecube at $99. (Source)

There are losses and selling a unit at a loss. I dont think the Gamecube sold at a loss per unit, when it was $99 it was at the end of its life cycle and manufacturing costs would be lower anyway.

Of course Nintendo is watching. They're always watching. In fact, they're outside your bedroom window right this second.

Seriously though, I doubt they care enough to waste their time, money and other resources on worrying about a (relatively) small website/forum.

You might not believe it but they even observe IRC Channels or even private Torrent Trackers.
This kind of stuff is actually an real job you can apply for at bigger companys.
