TL;DR: electric toothbrushes has filthy "DRM" even within the same brand, just because they are different models the expensive heads will not fit the cheap toothbrush model with no real reason...

So i was interested in an electic toothbrush since i am a lazy twat, the dentist is always saying i don't wash the teeth correctly and i do try my best to wash it every day like he says but it seems it's never good enough

and i figured out i wanted a good solid brand, not because it theoretically cleans better or has fancy deep clean shit whatever that means i bet its just brand tricks, but it would help me mentally because i have a fancy one and spent a good dime in it to let it abandoned in the corner...

so i guessed "yeah i am going with oral b" i went to the store and when checking out the different heads\brushes i noticed in the package "fits this models *list* but not this other models *list*"
and looking at the brushes, they use the same mechanic (rotate slightly from one side to the other), the only difference is the brushes and a different fit...

so basically the expensive brushes, will not fit the cheaper bodies..
i understand and find normal that a oral B brush doesn't fit a coolgate one, they do theese mechanics to make you buy from the same brand and even patent\copyright that shit so white brands can't make brushes..
but really... is there a real reason the "deep clean pro plus u dual core extra capacity" doesn't fit the "essential basic plain white" toothbrush body other than "you bought the cheaper model fuck you"
the same is the other way around, the expensive body doesn't fit the cheaper heads...

I usually go for the average pricing one. So I'm not paying loads, but I know the battery will last a decent amount of time. At the end of the day I believe that it's the toothpaste that really does the cleaning and toothbrushes' are simply tools. Expensive bodies are essentially just overpriced and hyped up, but the only good thing is battery life. Whereas a cheap one is fine, but the battery doesn't last me near as long as I'd like.

I never got that either and because I'm even lazier, I prefer to go the classic way instead of having to look into what fits what, so I just use a classic old toothbrush (literally classic, nothing fancy). Electric toothbrushes are overpriced for the body alone and then you need the different brushes for each model and it's a pain and rip off!

Mechanically, no.
Financially, duh.

yeah i pretty much guessed... the funny thing is they got so many models and all they all do the same function, its a battery powering a motor that spins in a specific way, there is nothing more to it to create the excuse of different bodies
all of them at different prices and this DRM thing i just went overwhelmed and quit purchasing it altogether

You could always just use a normal toothbrush and hold on to a vibrator in the same hand.

So you want to buy an expensive brush so you can mentally want to brush more often since you don't want that money go to waist.
I don't think mechanical ones are expensive enough to give you that incentive. Unless you buy a brush made out of gold with diamonds on it.

I don't think you try your best at all when you brush your teeth every day. I don't brush my teeth everyday cuz I'm lazy too. Sometimes I'll go a few days without brushing. I do brush at least once a week. Usually 2 or 3 times a week. You can bet I eat junk food every week too and all the garbage sugar filled frozen foods and practically almost anything from the grocery is pumped with sugar. But when I brush my teeth I make sure I brush it good. So I haven't visited the dentist in 6-7 years I finally went a few weeks ago actually and the dentist said that I have no cavities at all. He said to keep it up. So if not brushing every day didn't give me cavities and you brushing every day doesn't work your obviously not doing it right like your dentist says.

One thing is when you take your finger nail and scrap you teeth after you brush does stuff come off of it? Like white stuff? When I brush nothing comes off. So i'm scrubbing all the plaque and whatever builds up on my teeth. So if stuff comes off your not brushing good. I don't use Listenine either just good plain ol tooth brush and toothpaste. Colgate and Crest.

They do make "sonic" toothbrushes which actually do work differently, that cost more and don't use the same brushes. So that's not true in every case.
With Oral-B i haven't had issues with brushes not fitting. The standard brushes they sell in any grocery store work for most of their models, including the cheaper model I have (but the battery's nearly dead on it so I went back to regular toothbrushes for the time being)
But any of them will do the job. Just don't get the small cheap Oral-B one that's powered by a single AA battery. It's good for on-the-go use, since it doesn't need a charger and the battery lasts ages, but the brushes barely move at all so you still need to use it like a regular toothbrush.
