Phillips #000 or JIS #000 screwdrivers are recommended.

Philips #1 fits perfectly. #2 is too big and #0 slips a little. It might still work but you run the risk of stripping the screw.

Those are really small and are needed for disassembling the 3DS. Philips #1 is for opening the battery panel on n3DS XL.

OP's model is a n3DS not a n3DS XL. Tutorial is for every model.

Stripping screws are still a risk regardless of what screwdriver size you use.

Whoops! I don't have an n3DS to check. But from pics on the internet it appears to be the same Philips #1 screws on the back panel.

Philips #000 is extremely small and cannot be used to open the 2 screws on the back panel. It can probably be used for the screws on the motherboard.

So it should be a #1 screwdriver? I just want to take out the SD Card

Any small Philips screwdriver that fits in the screw will work. You can use size 0, I think I use sizes 0 and 1. A flathead that fits will work as well. You could use a small knife to open it was well as long as your very careful.
EDIT: I actually use a size 00, but sizes 00, 0, and 1 all fit.

If you go to a dollar store you might be able to find a screwdriver with different sized heads. I got one that ran about$3 or $4 and comes with the right size for the 3DS backplate screws, but I tend to prefer using a jeweler size one.
