I explained in good detail as to why it won't work so you got your answer, you just don't like it because it is not what you where looking for

you did, and i was ok with that. just getting a second opinion, but i didn't expect a shitpost.

8.1 mset isn't really in anyone's laps except Gateways for the n3ds. I am RE'ing their work to grab me those payloads for all cfw's. But I am also testing different entry points, new payloads, and even more wonderful stuff. Bottom line, no rxTools mset will not work I'm sorry. But hopefully once I tweak a few things, 8.1 users will have cfw, a new entry point(s) and maybe even entry points for arm9 kernel on 9.3+ For now, I have publicly announced that I will keep all of my work private until Nintendo completely stops caring about the 3ds. I don't want to keep wasting my time finding exploits if they can just patch them. Sorry guys/

NTR 2.x also supports 8.1.0-0J.
It's a closed source product too.

But both GW team & cell9 the NTR creator never show off their works.

I don't like lamers. But if a person who always shows off his/her unreleased work is attacked by lamers, I will not support him/her either and I will treat his/her "work" as a rumor.

I sent him a few emails but all I ever got back was sad faces.... Most of my emails have me whipping poop though so that may have been a turn off

I think the discussion went a little off topic; the question was why rxtools cannot be started with Gateway's MSET exploit (.nds install).

I'm on SysNAND v4.x and GW EmuNAND. What I would like is to just keep *one* MSET installed, then depending on the SDcard that's inserted boot into GW or into a CFW. This works 100% fine with PastaCFW (which is what I still use for GBA and DSiWare). I haven't tried any rxTools nightlies, but earlier just renaming the .bin to loader.bin didn't work. The only way to get rxTools to work was to install its MSET, then to go back to GW install their MSET. Ya, that wasn't going to happen so I just stuck with Pasta.

So as far as I see it we'd either need a new MSET that somehow "knows" if it's GW or RX then loads it at the appropriate address, or have a special RX that is named "loader.bin" and loads at the same address as GW. Since the GW MSET exploit hasn't changed in forever, this should be well known.
