ROM Hack What's the easiest way to dump/find/etc a game script?

Hello~ I have very little experience and knowledge of extracting text from games. I'm currently trying to rip what text I can from Devil Survivor 2's Japanese version, as that's the version I own, and I wanted to actually get the SpotPass missions for the Durarara characters rather than save edit them in (I love Izaya so, so much). I'm lower-intermediate learning Japanese, so I wanted to do so and compare it to the Eng script to study.

I looked a the Kuriimu thread but there would be a lot of copy-pasting I'm assuming...
It would be much easier to just dump the text, if possible, and just edit the text. Plus that way at least I can ctrl+F.

So far I dumped the romfs from the JP game, but trying to go from there is quite difficult/taking forever since I'm such a nub.

Would anyone be kind enough to offer advice? Such as when translating other games, where is the text usually located and such? Will the text be totally out of order?
