I already know how to fix it i have many links on doing this however i just wanted to know what it is?
One one forum its some kind of protection on the isos
Just wanted to know if this is true and if there is a thread that had a more in depth reason for this thanks.

Well it looks like it's not really a copy protection. Modchip users and people with the backup dip in every IOS(cioscorp) don't have a problem with this when launching these games from the disc channel. It isn't even some kind of "IOS lock" or whatever as all IOS are trucha signed when you use cioscorp, while it's the least i would expect from copy protection to check if the IOS is correct signed. Only launchers which don't patch the 002 error in the main.dol before starting the game suffer from this. So it's only a counter measure agaist evil honest import users which buy games from other regions and play them with Gecko OS and don't know how to get rid of it.
