Is it not possible to dump it, edit the title id using a hex editor and recompiling as a CIA (to install as a NAND app)? Or would it become a broken browser, since it calls for n3DS specific actions from o3DS expectations?

In short, no. It's not possible.

You can use the O3DS browser on N3DS. Patch Home Menu to use the Spider TID instead of the Skater one, or patch the O3DS browser with the Skater TID.
Howeer, that doesn't mean that the Spider exploits will work.

Is there any way we could use the Spider browser as a standard application (for web development purposes)?

Nope. It runs as an applet.

Is there absolutely no way to patch / repack it in any way?

Make your browser identify as a 3ds and djust your page's css to the 3ds screen resolution. From the web development side there's no difference.

The 3DS browser has a lot of quirks that you simply can't replicate with Chrome.

The main idea is to avoid obscure tricks as much as possible. Most 3ds's won't handle Node.js or angular.js and there's not much trouble.

    Um... Node.js is server side.

You could try using Citra, maybe ?

Not trying to derail the thread, but the bindings won't make it to the page. Perhaps is not Node.js fault after all.

What do you mean ? And I think that Node.js is totally unrelated to the web development question. (Node.js for 3DS could be fun, however)

That was the no derailing part and also one of the examples of obscure tricks (with angular).

Angular.js is client side. I don't know if it works on the 3DS. But remember that the 3DS still runs Webkit.

It's still ninty, so I'm not expecting too much compatibility with most updated css webkit but I cannot say anything here, I have not tested it.

If you have the means to run it, you shouldn't have a use for it.
