Thats true in a sense. It would be correct if you said mainstream is only like that. Mainstream music sucks.

And Linkiboy, tell us the genre you are intrested in. I listen to everything, so I know where all the good bands are at.

Don't listen to the MSTRKRFT song on there, its a remix, and more dancy then what they normally do. Its still great though

As an old ass person who is still stuck listening to 70s music myself [IMG]
I feel compelled to present a bakers dozen of essential old ass albums for the gilding of young Linkiboy's earholes.

League of Gentlemen - Robert Fripp
Angst In My Pants - Sparks
Secret Treaties - Blue Oyster Cult
    Plays Live - Peter Gabriel
Here Come The Warm Jets - Brian Eno
    La Sexorcisto - White Zombie
    Easy Action - Alice Cooper
Hell Bent for Leather - Judas Priest
America Eats It's Young - Funkadelic
    Walk Among Us - Misfits
    Ramones - Ramones
    Hot Rats - Frank Zappa
    The Dreaming - Kate Bush

..and they're all still good "nowadays", so I'm technically on topic here.

good one! See you on the other side is alright, but most of the other recent ones are pretty crappy (well i think Korn sucks ass in general).

And people who are saying Hip Hop/Rap sucks:
    GTFO; stop being close minded.

indeed, its one of those things everyone jumps at the chance to say online. in real life I occasionally am told about how shit rap is, then I explain I dont listen to eminem, 50 cent etc. 'oh who do you listen to then!?" talib kweli, dead prez, nas etc "who?"

but I dont think I'd rather have it any other way, I couldnt stand it if everyone listened to the same people as I do, as I see it- if you dont like them, youre not worthy.

I don't like AAR as much now that I've realized just how much production they use in their songs.

The Killers new album out next week [IMG]

I tend to like mainstream stuff so take that fact as you will [IMG]
    Panic! at the Disco
    Fall Out Boy
    Lostprophets
and singles from Editors, Arctic Monkeys and The Raconteurs

The Fratellis are dead catchy, but online samples of the album put me off. The rest of it sounds a bit old-fashioned compared to the singles they've released.

Just get old music. Anything from 2003 to today suck salty balls. Especially that "new rock" idiotness going around. Oh well, only evanescence is kind of original... everything else sounds the same and even the people dress the same as every other band. Welcome to the mp3 era where originality is gone, I guess.

I remember the day were grenday was the only greenday not, today "Greenday-like" bands run amock and even greenday is like a major $$$ [IMG] player now. They were good like 3 records ago. not anymore.
