After playing Bomberman on the NES when it first came out I thought the game sucked and never picked up another title. Now playing Bomberman Classic on Bomberman Touch on the DS me and my G/F are hooked....I'm thinking of picking up the TG16 version off the wii shopping channel cause our batteries keep dying on the DSes. So on to my questions:
Is the TG16 version any good?
What version is the best and why?

I think Bomberman sucks on the DS.

The TG16 versions are brilliant, especially the one on the Wii. Me and my GF play it all the time. The Super Bombermans on the SNES are brilliant too as is Neo Bomberman on Neo Geo.

Bomberman Jetter on the GC is great as is Bomberman Online on the dC

Bomberman Tournement will always have a place in my heart as not only the multiplayer is great but it also has a decent RPG mode.

Saturn Bomberman is the best of them all.

Stay clear of the N64 ones, no idea why people liked them. Also give Pocket Bomberman GBC a go, its a platform version of the single player mode but its a lot better!

Wow....just curious but why does the Bomberman Battle Pack suck? I have never played the story mode but the battle pack seems fun....what is different from the battle pack and the TG16 version?

    Thanks for the input!

I dunno, it just didn't feel right to me.

I didn't like the graphical style of it and I preferred it just being on one screen as it feels a lot more tense on a single screen. I have to say I've not played much of the ...Land one though, but it just seemed to have the same sort of faults that I didn't like.

I just prefer the old school style and play of the original games, I do like the GC versions though just for their gameplay.

Bomberman '93 is a must have in my opinion, plus it supports 1-5 players (luckily the Wii allows 4 wiimotes/classic controllers and 4 GC controllers to be used). Also the single player is fun and lengthy too. I'm actually amazed Hudson made it the first Bomberman available on the VC. This version is quite tense too.

Not played the Live version though.

I'm really enjoying the Bomberman Live on Xbox Live Arcade. 8 players online is just wild.

I'd say get the SNES emulator on the DS working with some Super Bombermans.

A hard task, the only one I would not even consider is the recent 360 version (the live arcade version is pretty good though).

I was one of the few that liked the first 64 version but the PCE bomberman '94 is rightly heralded as a classic. Perhaps more so than the megadrive port of the '93 which sucked down so much of my youth (and this was before flash carts and me owning a good enough emulation PC).

Saturn bomberman, lack of great emulation and the fact it can for obscene sums if you are thinking of getting it that way can probably discount it. Through my own fault though I have not put much time into this version.

I have also enjoyed the entire GB(C/A: play the snes enhanced version of the GB title if you can) and DS line too.

the 360 version looked nasty (non live arcade)
I even saw it down to $15AUD
    and didn't want it.

Haven't had a chance to buy the 360 version but I did grab the TG16 version...the single player is nice but my g/f and I seem to like the DS version a bit better for multi player.

Best Bomberman ever to me was Bomberman 2 on NES, a late system release. Visually the draw quality was early 16bit era, and had a very good use of existing colors and audio as well. Game was a 4P title which had a good challenge and long lasting 1P element, but had a well balanced selection of items for use in it and a 4P battlemode with buddies. I hope Hudson gets a clue and pops that up since the original has been whored out way too much.

    My favorites:

    Bomberman Online: Dreamcast
    Saturn Bomberman: Saturn
    Bomberman Live: Xbox 360
    Bomberman Generations: Gamecube
    Bomberman Jetters: Gamecube/PS2

Bomberman Live gets the most play, since playing online rocks.

    My tops are
Saturn Bomberman (10 player, who could resist)
Super Bomberman 3,4,5 (each has a different set of powerups, gameplay fucking good too)
Bomberman DS (not land touch) is pretty good too, but no Louies [IMG]
