Hacking What to do, New updates etc

So I haven't used my N3DS in a while now, couple of months. It's currently on 11.0.0-33E running hardmod A9LH with Luma3DS.
I've noticed there are new updates available for the 3DS and I was wondering if it's safe to update without bricking my 3DS? Do I need to update Luma3DS aswell?

Also I haven't backed up my NAND with a9lh, I only have the old nand backup before a9lh, how should I make a backup for my nand with A9LH?

There will always be a thread (or two or three) about new updates so it pays to do a search.

You can backup your NAND using Decrypt9 or Hourglass9 (as Luma payloads).
