The way I see it, you can sell it on ebay (noting the water damage) and use some of that money to buy a new ps2. The ones out now are like $100 in my area (nyc).

Well maybe he's poor and doesn't have plates, and he won the PS2 in like a raffle or something, and he just has to eat his food off of whatever is available, and then after eating he wanted to clean his PS2 so he put it in the dishwasher.

    A poor person won't have a dishwasher.

Don't power it up, Get a hairdryer and carefully take apart the set, pull the optical block aside and dry the mainboard and casing as much as you can, don't let the dryer linger though cause you might over heat a component, after you got as much as you can, let it dry out for a day or two, put it back together, make sure the lens is cleaned up on the optics. Give it a shot, I've fixed alot of things over the years just fine with a hairdryer/compressed air, after needing to power wash boards of corrosive chemicals (Ethelyn Glycol, pop, cat piss, etc...)

If possible, disassemble your PS2 and leave it out to dry. Completely. As in a for a month or so to be ABSOLUTELY sure.
