I was browsing through my device manager when I realised I has two 2.8Ghz P4s listed, instead of just one as I had previously thought. Sure enough, the Task Manager tells me that there is two cores running, and there is a meter for each. I then go down to the shared computer (it's an Acer Veriton 3500, while mine is a Veriton 3600G), and it tells me that it is running only one core (the shared computer, that is). As far as I was concerned , the only differences between the 3600G and the 3500 were an improved clock speed and an AGP slot (to the 3600G), but this discovery makes me think otherwise.

Is there really two cores, or is my computer displaying the wrong information?

if your cpu supports hyper threading technology
it will appear as 2 CPU's in your device manager
