Once again, its your favorite unknown poster, FALLEN!

So, I'm getting a Raspberry Pi 2 for Christmas, and I want to program it to do some really cool gaming stuff or anything that involves TV! I'm already familiar with Retro-Pie and XBMC as I already have them on my Raspberry Pi 1. Is there anything else you guys have done that is along these lines? Perhaps something that has saved you money for TV or games? An android emulator perhaps!

    LET ME KNOW!

You know, it would be cool if raspberry Pi had its own section of the forum.. @Sicklyboy @Veho
I'm making a Coffee table pi, check this out

Trouble is a fair few things have not quite made the leap to the pi 2 yet.

Also "to program it to do some really cool", right on but you know you can have it do multiple things just by having different cards, and http://www.berryterminal.com/doku.php/berryboot I guess.

If XBMC/kodi is something you are already familiar with it will do most things, I can point you to something like http://www.pimusicbox.com/prerelease.html but it is mainly a music player. I mainly do things like that music player, XBMC and https://www.screenlyapp.com/ for people with pis, and I guess some fiddling with code but I already have a real computer for that and they are not as nice as arduinos and such for bothering small electronics.

Would you say this is better than Retro-Pie?

Oh NICE! I'll try this when I get my RP2! I would give it a try on my RP1, but that kind of takes away the anticipation and I'd imagine it'd be a bit slower. I just read an article that says it will allow you to go back to the menu, which is DESPERATELY needed in Retro-Pie! I can't wait to give this a try!

hmm lakka looks really nice :)
i was going to get a raspberry pi, maybe the zero, i wanted to do some web stuff, simple things like syncing with rsync from a web server to a usb harddrive, not 'internet of things' things lol
so i thought about it, and getting one of the small computers to run linux on, although cheap in itself, would still be a bit expensive since i would have to get the usb cable + power cables, get the wifi adaptor etc, i would want a case for it as well.

so i just bought a tiny little router and will put openwrt on it, and it will do everything i want for less than $20 :) it will have much better wifi than the pi since it comes with a huge antenna!

People have programmed it to do that...However, that is not what I asked for in this thread. As the thread says, I want to program it with something gaming/TV related. Please stick to that topic

Plus one on this or Retropie! Seriously emulation is the go-to project for me.
I also suggest if you like Minecraft, try making a server!
