I've just got my 360 back from Microsoft which they have refused to repair. It has the E76 error.

Now, though, I don't know what to do with it. Sell it and buy an arcade or the new Xbox 360 S? Keep it and buy a new one? I just don't know. I don't want to send it to MS to fix for a fee because I really don't want to pay £80 to get another crappy refurb.

    What's your advice?

if i were you i would call them back, demand to talk to the persons manager and get angry at them until they fix it for free, just tell them you bought it more recently than you did but you lost the receipt

That's certainly the "I don't want to have fun gaming" route.

Just sell it cheap, and buy an arcade. Those things are dirt cheap.

Dunno if you can do it where you live, but you could buy a new 360...swap the broken with the new, and take it back saying it didn't work.
I know here it's easy to do, thanks to incompetent workers.

Yeah I have both PS3 and 360, so this is irrelevant.

Now, one of my MS press buddies has come up with a great offer- I send him my broken console and he sends me a brand new Arcade unit. I'm most likely to do that, sell it and then buy the new one in a couple of weeks.
    Thoughts?

Well I seem to have lost contact with him now because of complications with my private emails and a website getting rid of me, etc etc...So now I seem to be back to square one, unless he replies soon.
