The only reason users are not updating at the moment is because there are unreleased exploits that work up to 4.1 that don't involve a jig and USB cable to load hacks but instead involve loading a webpage. If you don't mind having to use a jig and USB cable to load hacks every now and then, you can update.Well this is killing me. Can't find out how I get this damn user off here without updating the firmware. Is it better to stay on lower firmware (4.1.0) or is it okay to upgrade??
If I just want to update firmware, delete my users, then go back down to 4.1 and to where I am now, that should be fine right? The only reason users are not updating at the moment is because there are unreleased exploits that work up to 4.1 that don't involve a jig and USB cable to load hacks but instead involve loading a webpage. If you want to update, I would recommend this guide as it will allow you to return to 4.1 at any time while you enjoy the benefits of being on the latest firmware. It should be worth noting that the guide will leave you with AutoRCM installed as a means to prevent you from accidentally burning your fuses when running a higher firmware. It can be removed only if you have another method that you have 100% confidence in that will boot you into RCM and not burn your fuses.
In retrospect, that might have been a better alternative since initializing the console was not un-linking the account. The guide may look long and daunting but it is designed that way to be as noob-friendly as possible while reducing the chances of a mistake to nearly 0%. Feel free to use that guide to update quickly to 5.1 and return back to 4.1 once you have done your business. If I just want to update firmware, delete my users, then go back down to 4.1 and to where I am now, that should be fine right?
I backed up NAND already so, I guess I can go back to Video 1 now lol
Not sure what you mean here. You cannot stay offline and update the firmware. If you mean to stay offline after updating, that is fine. If you are staying offline to stave off a ban, you can still update all of your games and system firmware if you are banned. In case we want to stay offline after hacking with SX' is it better to update the firmware in order to play the newest game ? thank you

According to this thread, the highest firmware needed to play a game without online functionality is 4.1. You can check if any games you want to play need a firmware equal or lower to that to answer your question.Exactly, i don't want to go online after hackin the switch. So i have to decide before hacking it if I update tue firmware to rhe last version or not?
So is it bettzr to stay to tje tjder firmware orndowbload the thst (before hacking) (becausebim afraid that tje next new game ask a newer version)
What do you mean by "brick"?Can backup NAND actually un-brick the console? What else is it used for?
Just follow the tutorial and use Hekate until you reach the end. After you have finished following the guide, you can go back to using SX OS. It states it very clearly in the guide in the red textHi all, just backed up my 4.1.0 NAND and used my 32gb sd card for backing up.
If i were to try using this method ( https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-update-to-5-1-without-getting-banned.511040/ )to update without burning fuses and to use my 200gb SD card and followed by installing SX OS on the 5.1.0 system, what should be the way to go? Just needed some directions, thanks a lot.
Nothing stopping you from installing a .nsp of a game update is there? You can only update games on the latest firmware. There are no games that require higher than 4.1 at this time, however.
If you must/want to update, you can follow this guide to update to whatever firmware you want: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...nofficially-without-burning-any-fuses.507461/
Requirements are that the Switch must boot into RCM when you load a firmware that is not native to your console. For this, the guide has you install AutoRCM to prevent you from booting the Switch normally and potentially burning fuses when running a higher firmware.
