Homebrew What Resolution Can the Wii Handle for Local File Playback?

For video playback homebrew. Some video files, especially if HD, have hitching and long pausing. I'm wondering if anyone knows the sweet spot resolution that the Wii can handle without issue.

Or is it not necessarily a resolution issue, and mainly file size/speed of the drive the video is on?

And remember that resolution is only one factor of the complexity of a video - codec (you can "cheat" a lot by using mpeg-4 part 2 (xvid) instead of mpeg-4 part 10 (h264)), bitrate, and choice of "tricks" (can be summarized by profile and level) are important too
