I recently played around with the different parts of the DMG-01 LCD, and it got me really curious where the green tint comes from. I used to assume that it came from the reflective backing, but doesn't seem to be the case based on what I've seen from the reflector.

I also noticed when trying different orientations of polarizers (both front and back), the hue sort of shifts between yellows, greens, and even reds. Is there something going on with the specific liquid crystals used in the Game Boy? Or is it done in software considering how bivert mods make it look blue? Would it be possible to change the color of it?

I tried googling for this stuff, but the answers are usually about why they chose it to be green and not what actually did to make it green. Really curious to know what's the case.
