Nintendo only makes 16MB, 32MB, 64MB and 124MB cartridges, say a game is made and it totals 65MB then it must be released on a 124MB cart with useless data stuck on the end. Rom trimmers remove the useless data.

Be careful though. Some trimmers overdo it and mess up the wifi data.

btw any informasion about the roms that need trimming ?
atleast Im not going to trim, since I heard that trimming brakes some download play and wifi features, but maybe if I get stuck on space maybe.

Err no rom needs trimming. And I've trimmed all my roms using NDSTokyoTrim and all my games work perfectly.

yes trimming is just to save space on your cartridge.. it should also be noted that alot of companies will design a game with restrictive size limitations when they are making it. this way they know if they are going to go over 64megs and if so oftentimes try to cut back as it is more expensive for them to publish the game the larger they go, IF i had to guess, i'd say more times than not you wont need to trim a rom, but i could be wrong, these people here have their R4 already so they'd know, i dont yet!
