What is this on my Xbox 1.0 Mobo?

I'm looking at my Xbox in preperation to TSP it, I was looking for my solder points and saw this:



What is that bridge looking thing? This Xbox has been opened before but from what I can tell its stock as far as the HDD goes and I just softmodded the thing today. It doesn't appear the points I need to bridge are bridged here, but this thing along the side, I don't recognize it from other TSOP videos, is this the remnants of a modchip or some other mod from awhile ago that was undone?

An adventurous Theory:

Someone tried to Read/Write the XBox EEprom.

Interesting. Well I’ve already set the EEPPROM Key to all zeros and backed it up. But the Xbox was stock with a stock HDD when I opened it. Maybe a sloppy repair from Microsoft back in the day?

Seems like a modchip was installed, maybe an aladdin, and someone ripped it off.

I have to concur with @contezero it does look like there’s been a mod-chip in there and someone’s done a sloppy removal job.

A supercap is used for the clock and is notorious for failing on 1.0-1.5 motherboards, leaking and damaging the motherboard.
