I want to use a backup loader for GC games and I want to attempt putting my whole library of games onto a single disk. ( I dont think thats possible without blue-ray.) So What would be the highest capacity disk the wii could handle. When you run backups I assume they need to be DVD-R, all I got is +R.

As far as I know, Dual Layer is. Dual Layer holds up to 8.5 GB.

That sounds pretty awful to be honest. I may hold off on backup loading if I find out the project cafe can run blue-ray disks.

On another note if I were to do backup loading does it have to be DVD-R? Is there any exception to this?

Well seeing as Sony plays a major part in Blu-Ray...I doubt it.
And actually, 8.5 gigabytes is a lot for a console game.

Also, you can use DVD+R ONLY if you change the booktype to DVD-R.

Well Nintendo is bound to use disks beyond dual layered for next generation. From GC to Wii we upgraded from the mini disks, I guess it was cost effective to use smaller disks but why would they not use Blue-Ray regardless of sony owning it?

Well I do use an external hard drive for all of my Wii games on Wiiflow but as far as the homebrew scene has been with the Wii there is no gamecube USB loader (well not without Hardmoding your wii which I refuse to do.) Project cafe may be a year and a half away and even then it would probably take another year for homebrew to be developed for it. thats about 2-3 years waiting for a backup loader which uses a higher capacity disks. I just wanted to see my options for what time the wii has left. For all we know the cafe may not even have GC support which I doubt if it can do Wii.
