DVD+R DL, yes. Verbatim hands down. They usually cost a buck and half here in Canada, but if you look for deals in the States they can go as low as just under a buck per disc.

DrKupo and several others told me that Verbatim is the only way to go (although others have told me it works fine with certain other brands, can't recall).

Anyway, just picked up this Verbatim DVD+R Double Layer Disc 10-Pack Spindle from Microcenter (for $20 in-store, it's $14 online) and used half of them already. Every game works flawlessly! [IMG]

I also heard that DVD+R is mandatory too...

[For reference, X, Microcenter on Elston Ave is where I picked mine up, great place, you may know of it. There's also one in Westmont. [IMG]]

+R is required. Also, VERBS ONLY. Use anything else and you'll kill your laser.

    Fixed the poll,
Seems like Verbatim is hands down already!
    I shop at http://supermediastore.com/dvd-plus-r-dual...er-section.html
Too bad they don't tell you where they manufacture their Verbatim DVDs [IMG]
Also thanks for the quick reply guys!

    @Martin,
Thanks for the local shops but I got a few grand in my paypal which is why I am resorting to online shops!

Does the manufacture location really matter?

I'm pretty sure mine aren't manufactured in Singapore, yet they still work flawlessly.

Is this something I should factor in with future purchases? [IMG]

Myself, I like printable DVDs. Does anyone know if they make Singapore brand dual layer PRINTABLE DVDS?

Just to let you know as well, MBI DVD+R DL discs (manufactured by Ricoh) are also exceptional for Xbox360 backups. I've gone through 80 of them, never had 1 bad disc, all have worked flawlessly [IMG]

I get the glossy hub printable ones, but they cost a pretty penny. Anything for the aesthetics [IMG]

Verbs are way too expensive. I use one of the cheapest brands Arita, which are about £10 for 25. They work brilliantly on my 360 samsung drive. Not sure if they work on all drives, but I recommend them.

They're not hub printable and have a matte finish, but I think these are only made in Singapore. Have only ordered 2 spindles before but they were both made in Singapore. Printable ones are pretty expensive but haven't had a coaster yet with one of these.

Yes, you should factor it in with future purchases. The Verbatims made in India are supposed to be of lower quality, or that's what I've heard. But that doesn't mean they won't work.

I've used one 20-disc spindle of Made in India and three 10-disc spindles of Made in Singapore. I never had a coaster on MIS, but had one on MII.
Quality difference or coincidence? Hard to tell. 1/20 vs 0/30... Could be just pure bad luck.

I'm on my fifth spindle which is MIS and has 15 discs. Same size casing as 20-disc MII. Didn't use that many discs yet.
