Hacking What is the best way to softmod the wii?

I have seen so many mods around here and I don't know which one to use,

Here's what I would do:

1. Update to the official 4.2 firmware via Nintendo.

2. Use the 4.2 method in this tutorial. I don't recommend using the safe 4.2 updater because when I used it, it didn't let me use Preloader or StartPatch 4.2. Just make sure you do a NAND backup with BootMii before using the other programs. Doing that will make sure that you won't brick your Wii!
