What's the benefit of using the virtual console (and injecting roms, etc) instead of just a regular emulator like Snes9x or FCE Ultra? It seems like the emulators have BETTER compatbility (except N64) than the virtual console...

I've been wondering about this also, well for one you can't play the latest Wiiware titles, but other than that I would rather use emulators.

I have the SNES9x emulator and I'm not sure what to do with it since it is a WAD file and all my SNES roms are .smc.

Makes you look rich when you show your wii to non-hacking gamers.

A nice guide for installing the Snes9x channel would be sweet...

    Gambia, The
proper wiimote/classic controller support without waiting and re-registering all over the place, plus saving right on system memory without having to pop an sd card in all the time.

I guess this is the most legitimate answer.

On top of that, the official VC titles have more to offer. Their instruction manuals have often been "wii-ified" and are included in the menu. Also auto-save. Whenever you exit a vc game it saves your position automatically. This can be done with various console emulators on the pc end, but as of now saving on emulators on the wii can be sketchy and even then it's saved to your sd card and might get moved/erased.

I dont have a classic controller , so i prefer playing some snes games with my wiimote (cant be done on VC)
+ wiiware is out , I prefer having 1 snes9x channel over 15 vc titles that leave me with 15 free blocks on my wii.

I think the emulators are far better.
-They take up less room on the Wii Memory (Remeber we have WiiWare coming!)
-The colours in the game are far better
-They are in full screen - no borders
    -They run smoothly

Now with PaRaDoX releasing Channels with Banners, my Wii looks gggggggggggggreat!
