I've looked all over and can't find any info. Running Not64 on Wii and want most of these games to work, and according to the posted compatibility list, the roms run smooth "on rice". Can someone help me out so I can get to some retro gaming? Otherwise, I'm just going to try shoving rice into my Wii and see if that helps.

So basically it holds no value or context? Lol

Rice is a plugin recently implemented in Wii64. Not64 uses the glide plugin.

Go to the following page:

https://github.com/emukidid/Wii64/releases

Download Wii64 with Rice.
Its right under the picture of princess peach.
Rice has improved compatibility and generally runs better. For example, Goldeneye now runs at console speed and the skybox is now working.

So, we just copy / paste the new files to the SD and that´s it?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I have a forwarder for Wii64, and Not64 on my Wii U vWii.

Another question: Do I need to install the texpacker files, as well? Where on my SD card to I put that?

Only thing required is the .dol. I'll check my files. I can upload the folder if need be.

You could replace the dol file in the Wii64 folder with the rice version, that way the forwarder opens the updated version. You might need to delete wii64 configuration file as well so a new one is generated on first boot(less chance of encountering issues).

Like I said I will post a link to my wii64 files if it's easier.

Rice is the pseudonym of one of the 1964 developers, who also made a video plugin called "Rice's Video Plugin" which is significantly more efficient than Glide.
...or they could have just meant "smooth on ice".

What about for first time users? I would like to use Wii64 Rice.
Ten days old I know, but you just install the release. If you mean the meta.xml and image, just download a version of Wii64 that has those packed in, then overwrite the actual dol with the latest version.
And then if you're on Wii U, you also install the Wii U forwarder for GamePad and faster CPU support.
