    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emulation explains it decently.

To apply it towards your flash cart, emulators allow you to play games for systems other than the GBA and DS. For instance, the NES DS emulator lets you play NES games on your DS, while jEnesisDS lets you play Genesis games, etc.

...the only "kinds" of DS are the DS Phat and the DS Lite. It's pretty easy to tell the difference between the two.

And like I said over PM, you'd be best posting this type of question in the DS forums.

Emulators are programs that run software/files meant to run on some other machine completely.

Its like having a program that lets you play GBA on your PC.

But each emulator needs to be made for each system. The program that runs GBA games on a PC doesn't work to run GBA games from a DS.'

Emulators are not only for gaming consoles either, if my understanding is correct.

    Made up definition for "emulation"

    Emulation - Meaning to
Natively run a Program/Code designed for another system

    Real Definition

French: émulateur Hardware or software built into a computer system which causes the system to appear as if it were another system.

[IMG] You know about flash cards and skins for said cards and not emulation? ... wow nothing against you personally but that just seems well backwards, like learning algebra before learning arithmetic
