It is not hard to use unless you are severely brain damaged.
But it DOES NOT work with firmware above 9.2.
Take this into consideration:

• FW > 9.2 Only Sky3DS works
• FW <= 9.2 Both GW3DS and Sky3DS works

Now, make you own decision, read how it works.
If you can't understand the manuals from GW and the tutorials in this forum, anyway, perhaps it is too hard for you to use.

EDIT: And if you have a specific question about functionality, requirements, features or whatever, just ask about that, but don't ask something as nonobjective as "which one is better"... It is like asking what is better apples or bananas?

I don't have much money, I can buy like 3 games and that's it, and I dont have a job so I can't get money to buy more games and I want lots of games

Gateway is way better as it makes you think about what are you doing, it let's you do all kind of hacky things that may destroy your 3DS if you don't know what you are into but that is part of the fun.
It let's you play modified games, foreign games, any game.
It let's you play eShop games, homebrew, etc.
But it is like a gun, if you can't handle it better leave it alone.

And that part in bold would be the main differences with Sky3DS.

OK, so I guess I need to learn how to use it, maybe my brother can teach me how. But how do I get the games I found a site called roms43 but it just downloads an. Exe file and I thought I needed like a CIA file or something and then my brother just face palms.

Gateway is fair: it can do a lot of stuff, but setting up (and backing up) emunand is confusing. Converting 3DS to CIA is a major hassle.Once you get it figured out, it is pretty convenient. But I worry that the price of 3DS units with firmware <9.2 is going to go very high. They're not going to get any more common.

Sky3DS, I still have not bought. More PNP, but I don't like the button. It will, eventually, fail. Like Supercard DStwo and EZ Flash IV, it will also become scarce and expensive.

The whole damn 3DS flashcart scene is just too sketchy. Be thankful R4 + DS Lite got as good and cheap as it is, with a robust homebrew software library. I doubt things will ever be so good with the 3DS...I mean it has been out 5 years and it seems like updates are still coming out blocking/monkeywrenching flashcarts. Or adding worthless frills like UI themes.

Okay I guess that gate way 3ds is better than sky 3ds. Thank you. This is all I need. Also the themes are weird, and what comes out in the new updates that makes them bad, like my brother said.

As far as it being complicated, just read read read. Don't update your console for any reason (talking about the Sysnand, but you'll learn more about this as you read) and google is your friend.

OK thank you. So updating is bad because you have to stay on 9.0 for gateway? That's why my brother got mad at me when I updated his 3ds.

My new 3ds xl is on 9.0 and he says stuff about dot CIA and dot 3ds and nav ram or something and patching and zelda launchers and he has like 3 sid cards and stuff.

If you still can't tell which is the superior card than just get the one thats simplest.
