I discovered that there are some Wii2HDMI adapters. Which is cheap? I need to get it for new Zelda to play it on my '22 computer monitor.
I don't care obout 1080p just to be able to play.

Id go with hdmiKey. It seems to do the job best.

You could also get a component to VGA adapter, if you have the component cables for Wii.

here is a review of the Wii2HDMI 1080p (not the Neoya one that only gives an 480p output)

that guy says it works... but all the people at dealextreme says it doenst upscale the image to 1080p

    also we have
    ViewHD Wii2HDMI 1080p
    HDMI converter
IMAGE HDMI Converter (that comes with a USB card reader )
GTMax Wii to HDMI (that comes with a Nect Strap to hold your LCD :ha: )
    Another HDMI converter
    The Wii HDMI Cable 720p

and the HDMIKey that it's expensive and doesnt do anything fancy. It can be upgraded, but the Wiikey team doenst bother to release a firmware update.

there are soo many... probably they're all chinese copies of the Wii2HDMI 1080p (except the HDMIKey and the Neoya's Wii2HDMI)

It's really not going to look any better than 480p, no matter which one you buy.

yeah I know.... I need one of those because the component reciever of my LCD doenst work with my wii (the screen just goes black everytime I turn off the lights... haha really weird). So the only way for me to have progressive scan is via HDMI.

I want to buy one of these adapters but I dont know wich actually works like it should (clean 480p signal, with wii games, interlaced gamecube games and interlaced wiiware games like megaman 9)

To get HDMI output. It doesnt have to do with some sort of magic increase of resolution.
With a HDMI cable you can plug the Wii into a normal monitor (hdmi to DVI adapter) for example.

This is very handy for for example students who aint made of money and cant afford both a monitor and a TV.

There are a lot of benefits with HDMI ports.

I stand corrected, HDMI does seem to look clearer/more crisp.

Do you have png files? Jpg files are far from reliable, consider the quality greatly decreases everytime you copy or edit the file.

Is he using the same display for both sets of pics, or two separate screens? If it's not the same TV (or monitor) direct comparison isn't really telling, as it could be differences in the displays causing the changes.

The camera is in a different place, so I'd say probably. The jpgs are unreliable anyway, so we don't learn anything from them.

I see a tiny difference, but don't trust it because of the previously mentioned reasons.

every single one of these will always do the same thing they will NOT display anything in 1080p they will make colours slightly more vibrant and sharper and that's it. your main reason to get 1 of these is to you can run the wii off a hdmi connection. any1 that says these will magically turn run games in 1080p is full of shit :P

the one from Neoya is your best bet it's cheap, it works (i use it) and it will run off a hdmi connection.

They also relieve the TV from having to do the upscaling. Most TVs isnt affected by this, but cheaper ones can get a slight delay when the TV have to upscale the image itself.

yeap, I will order one of from Neoya. The copy one at Dealextreme cost $9 less (due to DX having free shipping) and it says that has an upscaler (but everyone it's complaining that the switch button it's just a hole and you can’t switch to 1080p).
Since the internal upscaler of my LCD (Samsung B550) does a good job with 480p signals ... I will go with the Neoya one, perhaps it has better build construction.

But before ordering one, I would like to know if it can handle interlaced Wiiware games (like Megaman 9) and out of region interlaced gamecube games (480i PAL in my case). If it not to much trouble, can you test that for me blade?

The emulators convert the games to progressive scan if you have your wii set in 480p, unless you have changed the default settings of the emulator.

about wiiware games... the only one that runs only in 480i is Megaman 9 (and 10)

with gamecube games I really dont know... all the games are interlaced?

btw... your pimped wii is sick!!!
