I know that you can´t log in to your NNID in another console, so your digital games are restricted to one Wii U. But what does it happen when you download them to an external hard drive and then plug it into another Wii U?

My guess is that it recognizes the HD, but blocks any attempt to launch the games since the NNID doesn´t match. Does anybody tested this to say for sure?

I'm guessing it tries to make you format the drive, based on how user unfriendly the Wii U is regarding USB.

No idea, but I also suppose it will ask you to format the disk.
Supposedly the whole partition is encrypted with a key unique to the console.
So the partition encrypted with a different Wii U key may look like garbage to another Wii U.
