Most of you, twenty and something years old, should have heard of Goemon series. It appeared on NES and had games released on most of Nintendo consoles and handhelds, through Playstation and Arcade.

Why did Konami stop developing this series? And Parodius? [IMG]

I'm missing them so much... Played them this whole weekend and began wondering why such decisions...

Anyone would like to join me, sitting on this corner, whining about this? [IMG]

There was a DS version in 2005, never released outside Japan.

There usually is a couple of year gap between games, before the DS game there was a PS2 in 2000. For some reason there hasn't been an English game since oemon's Great Adventure back in 1998, I guess they haven't sold well.

Konami done a location test a couple of months back for their new shooter Otomedius, which is basically a new Parodius game.
The arcade cab has touch screen controls for special weapons and stuff, it looks pretty cool. I hope it gets ported to a console one day.

If you wanna check it out namakoteam posted a few hi res videos from the location test.

    Here's a better Goemon link:

I'm sure Konami will make more Goemon titles eventually, but not so sure we'll see them in English. Still hoping for a fan translation of Ganbare Goemon 3... It's like Goemon meets Zelda + Castlevania and easily my favorite of the series (fairly easy to get through in Japanese if you've played LotMN).

I have two rather awesome Goemon and Ebisumaru Miis that I made wandering around.

That's where they are. Trapped in my Wii.

you sure? while I didnt understand a word of it, it was a fun game, sorta like the 2D Zeldas

and yup, I love goemon too, I never played any of his games until the n64 title (and its sequel) which both rocked my world and pushed me into checking out some of his older games
