So um, this game came out around Link's Awakening for GBC.
I know it's on the GBC,
and that it's something Mario-related.
I think there it was a six mini game pack, i THINK.
I know it was full of minigames

There was this one minigame
where you had to move the player forward and backwards collecting coins to move on to the second level, but the coins only appeared in places you had to dodge falling things.
To move left was A, and right was B.
There was only one background per level.
Oh, and the third level had lava in there. I think.
And the game cartridge was black.

So yeah. I was playing this mini game around what, 3 years old, so this isn't really descriptive.

Almost sounds like you're talking about Game & Watch Gallery 2 or 3.
