Depends on what you want.
slot 1 card like dsx has its advantages, most notably clean rom and download play works well

slot 2 cards like sc has expansion bay, but it doesnt support clean roms and some games like brain age dont work over download play when the receiving ds isnt flashed.

I say get SC lite and when SC comes out with slot-1 card, get that too since they are known to have good support.

I would say have some patience a little while longer. Theres lots of new cards coming out. I use M3 on my old DS. As for the one slots, DSX looks the best to me.

Before I answer, answer these questions.

Is homebrew important?
How important is price?
Do you care about GBA support?
Did you want me to flash your DS for you?
wink.gif

And do you prefer slot 1 or slot 2 device?

Why is that melloncollie?

Well, in my opinion, I believe the SuperCard line of products are better do to the following:
- Cheap
- Excellent support
- Best NDS compatibility
- No frills menu (some people view this as a minus, but I like my GUI's fast)
- Fast "Load" speeds

Some cons for you:
- GBA support isn't the greatest (There are slowdowns)
- Again, some think the GUI is a crutch (I do not)

If you think you'll ever want to play any of the +2600 GBA games in the future, get a G6 or an M3.
That's simply not true.
I've played many GBA ROMs on my SuperCard SD.
They were indeed running quite well.
Slowdowns on Metroid: Fusion and Metroid: Zero Mission were a problem.

yeah but I can live without
doesnt matter, just doesnt need alot more accessories
not really cause I use VBA
if my Dad lets me and i need it, Yeah
if i'm flashed, doesn't matter

i would wait for a review of the new ninjapass X9 (i think thats the name), because if it lives up to everything it could rock. as long as you don't care about gba support. it seems like a very promising one. i think i might buy one, but have held off because i wanted to wait for a review on gbatemp.

or an EZ4, supposably has near perfect gba support!

actually i've heard that X9 isnt great (although i have no personal experience). I also happened to notice a shifty asian from my school using an X9 today, and i was like hmmmmm. when he started playing mario cart i called him a pirate! hehe. didnt stick around to ask his opinion though.

Well, I was using a SuperCard, but then switched to M3 Lite.
It's great, better.

- SuperCard Lite isn't supported by some homebrew applications, M3 works well with them
- M3 doesn't need the utterly retarded homebrew patching
- even with 'vanilla' SD cards, you can achieve 100% speed in games like Animal Crossing, Castlevania, Tony Hawk: American Wasteland ...
- it's shiny and almost invisible in a DS Lite (replacable covers, too)

It cost me about 20$ more, but what the hell. When you get it, you love it.

MaHe has got the good points pointed out. Now heres the kicker with M3Lite

Perfect - This is the one out there that can do it all. It does all official GBA rom sizes.

Professional - Long story short, it does not do GBA roms (save the really small games, but I'm sure you dont care about that). Therefore, this one is cheaper.

If the next question you are going to ask is where to get them, there are already a few threads about the PRO's and CON's of each store.
I personally have used Divineo.cn and found them ok, others have not had the same luck. Just do a little thread searching and stuff

Yes, and I've played a ton of gba on my SuperCard too. But he didn't ask about SuperCards in his original post.

I was just answering his question, with the options he gave me.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.

RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
