4.5.10 or something. (Don't feel like checking right now). I haven't updated since the original hack was discovered by neimod. There's very few games worth an outright purchase so I don't care to update yet. Good question btw. I was wondering this the other day

Unfortunately I just bought my 3ds and its on the latest 6.1

Thought I might be able to use my old acekard2i or r4ds card but I was wrong. Just bought a DSTWO supercard. Hope I can figure out how to use it.

You'll have an easier time flashing the supercard to its latest firmware (if it's at a lower one) using a DS or DSlite, DSi is okay too, but the first two are better.

It's really simple on how to use a Supercard. http://gbatemp.net/threads/the-supercard-dstwo-beginners-guide-how-to-setup-the-dstwo.290190/

I can't english today.

Anyway, if it is getting around the EOS that is giving you trouble, it's really straight forward. It's really just about how you set up the cart - and making sure your plugins are properly installed with the icons.

So i just checked a reseller hoping to pre-order and I saw this.

Taken from one of their re-sellers descriptions of the gateway:
The Gateway 3DS is currently designed to work with up to 5.1.0-11 firmware. The letter at the end is just the region (u, e, a, j, etc). This is not an official product, and it might be possible for Nintendo to attempt to block the functionality of the card with an update. There are no guarantees and no way to tell that the GateWay 3DS would be able to overcome that, so we do not sell the device claming that it will work with any firmware besides the one listed above.

According them, it works on the 5.1.0-11 firmware, but considering the main website says 4.5, I'm a little confused. Anyone want to elaborate?

they are just liars. After advertising it is compatible with 5.x now they are saying it is compatible with 4.x. WTF is that? Glad i didn't listen their bullshit and updated to 6.x.

Well, don't you think people should be smart enough to not update anyway? If you want to have an exploit work / a flashcart to work, then don't update. If you really want the updates (I'm sure nobody wants to), then they should get a second 3DS.

i didn't listen to their advise and updated as i want to be able to use e-shop etc. what i am trying to say is, even though if i didn't update, i would still not be able to use the flashcard as they are obviously lying about the firmware requirement.

also authors told the exploit will not be shared with public, so isn't it useless to stay on old firmware and not using e-shop, not playing new games etc.?

Yeah, because everyone has an extra $160 laying around.

Anyway, I e-mailed both the re-seller and gateway themselves to try and figure this out. I'll let you guys know if they respond.

Going on 2.X IIRC. It's a Zelda LE 3DS and I haven't had time neither wanted to play it for a while. Fire Emblem is waiting to be played along with Tales of the Abyss, but other than those.. Meh. Very few games out so far that I'd be ready to play.

Although, this is a lovely place for people to share this information. I have seen various threads, such as the Gateway one where people are just spamming messages like "lollzz i dnt care, im on 4.5" which fill up the whole thread; making useful information for others, difficult to find.

Nintendo all ready has a new firmware out is called 6.1.0-12U and it update the Mii Plaza and added new stuff on the Mii Plaza. I don't really care about the flash cards any more because Nintendo is cracking down on piracy and it's lot harder to use a flash card.

    Interesting lol

I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol

AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
