So, I was not hanging around few months ago here, not untill I repaired my DS that is.

Now, I am just weird guy who is interested in random knowledge on stuff.

Now, I was interested in, if functional (as in, if it does not get bypassed and then the measure does work) what would the do?

I remember the first DS crystal chronicles game having "thanks for playing" screen in it

    Now, since I have had cyclo DS on 1.56 and now on 1.57B1 firmware, pretty much all the antipiracy is blocked. And If I try to google, I do not find anything on it;
I tried to see what mario and luigi 3 antipiracy does - I heard it is really vicious one having oh-so-many checks, but list of things what it does (what shows in gameplay) is nowhere.

Also, I heard kingdom hearts had one (what I didn't even know about; I did not even know it had one, curses of better-than-r4 FC) - and I am compeletely clueless what It did.

So, as semi-documentional purpose, to look back on those games, Could we list games and what their antipiracy did in brief description.

As I start with example I know (remember from thatlong time ago)
Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates
After brief gameplay game would show "thank you for playing" screen (as if you would been playing a demo)

Kingdom Hearts would go to a black screen after choosing your difficulty.

combat of giants: dragons would not let you skip the intro cut scene and gives you a (red screen?) after that.

Interesting. Quite weird. Not much as creative works as the "i am demo" thing with first crystal chronicles.

By the way, I heard much about Mario and luigi antipiracy, but how much I search I cannot find anything definitive description about it's infamous amounts of antipiracy.

Apparently some of the AP measures in Phantasy Star 0 were that you got crappy item drops and people with genuine copies of the game couldn't be found in online multiplayer mode.

Hmm, since I have not played much I cannot say do I get crappy drops (though that oe shield for 9 lvl character was great)

and since I think I am still bit low level my tests still conclude that it would be normal to find much people yet...

I know also that phantasy star basic AntiPiracy was just to write savefile so you could not start game at all again.

LOL, I'm on R4 Revolution and the european version of FFCC Ring of Fates indeed gave me the "moogle of death" (there was a moogle on the thanks for playing screen) the stupid thing is, when I tried the american rom (no patching involved, mind you) it worked and I got quite far in the game.

GTA: Chinatown Wars shows a black screen when you try to load a game.

Pokémon Heart Gold/ Soul Silver freezes at random.

Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story freezes when you try to load a game.

Dragon Quest 5 made you stay on the ship in the beginning of the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks stopped the train controls from showing up.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Rings of Fate (or Ring of Fates, whatever) showed a screen with some Moogles saying 'Thank you for playing!' at random intervals.

I'm not sure, but I think The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road (RIZ-ZOAWD) had random freezing issues too.

Chrono Trigger didn't let you go past the church.

Phantasy Star 0 didn't have any anti-piracy in the U and E versions, only in the J one.

There's a bunch of other games too, but I can't remember what kind of protection they had.

Yes, it did. Lower quality drops and the inability to connect to people with legit copies of the game.

That probably means the flashcart team made a fix for the American rom but never bothered to fix the European rom.
