So basically people voting for HD-DVD are saying
1) the name "Blu-Ray" is not informative opposed to "HD"-DVD
2) BD is Expensive
3) Hate Sony
4) PS3 sucks
5) Too much empty space

1) If someone doesn't know what Blu-ray is, I bet that person very probably is too indifferent about HD format movies to buy HD-DVD as well.

5) A lot of movies put on both media can be put in DL-DVD and not lose a tiny bit of quality. But still there are stunning quality BD movies like Pirates of the Caribbean.

Retail price of both media movies are about the same price, aren't they? Movie 300 HD-DVD version was a dime (IIRC) cheaper than the BD version.

Disagreed. It's so hard to find HD movie rentals, over 90% of the movies I watch these days are still on DVD.
But if I go BUY a movie, then you're right BD will be my pick. I'm waiting for Pirates of the Caribbean 3-in-1 bundle pack. Getting them separately is too costly.

BTW: Have you all seen the stories about people buying "HD DVD Recorders" (DVD Recorders with Hard Drives) and thinking that they play HD DVDs?

People are going to go for the cheaper solution, while it almost maintains the same quality. Just disk space, that usually no one would use. (How much can a Blu-Ray hold; 25GB?)

The Storage Capacity for HD-DVD seems fine...

I'm for HD DVD. People usually go for price, and since HD DVD is cheaper (and still provides good quality videos) it would probably win.

who cares, im sticking with the DVD,
it doesnt justify the high prices that hd-dvd/br media have, not only the media itself but the readers and writters are expensive as hell
