Looks like a mouse sensor and thats what would make sense. What do you think it is?

It's a mouse sensor. Plain and simple. Can it have a secondary use than using the joycon as a mouse? Sure, but it's still a mouse sensor. Also, look at the trailer from 1:10-1:15. No way they just put that in there for a shits and giggles random shot. ;)
