I found these files at a random website. I don't know what they do. Could anyone explain and advise if they are useful and/or safe?

1. save-installer_v2.wad
2. mii-installer_v1.wad
3. save-extractor_v2.wad
4. mii-extractor_v1.wad

Thx!

Hey, sorry.

I found this link IN ANOTHER THREAD THAT NO ONE ELSE COMPLAINED ABOUT!

I am not trying to link to ROMs. I am referencing a site that has HOMEBREW APPLICATIONS. There is no mention of ROMs in my post.

Can someone get off of their high horse and answer the first question? I removed the site name.

You might referenced to the homebrew apps but you gave a link to a place where you get .wads which are roms.

i answered the question:

QUOTEThey are channels, You install them with the wad installer

They are safe btw.

I should have been more specific.

I know that .WAD files are channels and I know how to install them.

My questions should have read: what are their functions? What do they do once installed?

They are useful. The Mii apps let you copy your Mii Plaza to your SD card, and back.
The Save apps let you copy saves to the SD card, and back, unencrypted. The data.bin-type saves are, however, encrypted, and so incompatible with these tools. This is especially useful for online games, which don't let you copy the save to your SD card encrypted.

As far as I know they are safe.

Thanks for the info. I wish Prime could have been as helpful.

So can you back up all your Miis, then use the tool to restore them to a completely different Wii? Does that work the same for the save files?
