Hacking What can we do now ?

Hi everyone, I have been out of the Wii U hacking/homebrew scene for a while...
I still use the "AtLongLast" pack that was released a while ago for running homebrew like ddd by running the Java server on my PC.
I have seen that a a lot of new stuff was released which I am just not familiar with (like "Haxchi" or "CBHC")...
Can someone help me out by writing a quick summary of what happened since then, and telling me what are currently the best options for my 5.5.0E console ?
