Just got my EZFIV today, have to waited a week before I can get a miniSD card.
What can I do meanwhile without one?
I can load Mother 3 with my AceKard 2i just fine, but nothing else.
I can load stuff with GBA Exploader, but I have read not to load GBA games into the NOR with a slot-1 card. Is this true?

    Should I just wait?

I remember FAST6191 saying it's not secure to flash NOR or NAND via a slot-1 card when using an EZ-IV

Yeah we really do advise not doing anything with DS slot flash carts and the EZ4- it has a tendency to overwrite the loader section which makes running the actual EZ4 by itself impossible unless you can somehow reflash it. To that end do not do it again and see if you can load the EZ4 up- it will not get far before it errors out though it will display a message when it does, a black or white screen is worse though as it means the loader is not all there.

As for not having a miniSD- should you have a micro-mini SD adapter you could always try it as they do sometimes work for people but realistically you are sitting there doing nothing until it arrives.

You need to patch all ROMs (well, at least any that use a save type other than SRAM) with the ez-flash IV tool: http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/flashcart-files/download-ez4-client-2009-04-03-f31119.html

Edit: Is it failing to save in game, or after you reset and go back to the ez-flash IV firmware?
If in game, sounds patching related, if its within the EZ-flash IV firmware then it would be the cart trying to write out the save from SRAM to miniSD and failing.

    Hi,

You have to put your save in microSD :/GBA/SAVE/

If you have a gba game in the root, 2 in 1 tool will look in this folder for the save.

    microSD :/FinalFantasyVI.GBA
    microSD :/GBA/SAVE/FinalFantasyVI.SAV

EDIT: and the 2 in 1 tool patch ROMS/Game to save in SRAM
