Keeping the Switch in the dock while in sleepmode for prolonged periods is perfectly safe, never heard of any issues. The PD controller should not let anything in once Horizon says "Battery is 100% thanks"
Thanks for that mate. Appreciate it. I've not started using it yet you see, it's sitting there in it's box and I'm awaiting delivery of SX OS. I'm just hovering around whether to update or not. I'm leaning more towards doing it tbh. There are slight negatives that can be mitigated via means mentioned in this thread.

Pretty sure the warped Switches are due to the Switch being actively on and not in sleep mode. The whole point of sleep mode in the first place is a way to keep the console without using as much energy as possible. If anything is being warped due to staying in sleep mode, either sleep mode is broken or that device has too much power for its good.
Yeah, logically speaking it doesn't make sense. I'd just be interested to know what those people shared in common. To avoid any chances of overheating, I've disassembled the dock and reassembled it into a shell I bought online which is more reminiscent of the Wii U charging dock. It lets the thing vent better when it's docked. Anyway, there has been some decent info in this thread, I'm grateful to you all.
Thanks.
