Hi, I wanted to know the concequences of doing CFW on my PS Vita. I have a lot of experience with CFW so this time I want to play it safe and take my time before I have to troubleshoot for hours.

- Does HENkaku trigger the PSN store to ban my PSN account?
- Does H-encore trigger the PSN store to ban my PSN account?

- Is Henkaku a temporary root?
- Is H-encore a permament root?

Does one of these two CFW'S disable functionality on my Vita that it will not able to recover from? <-- this one is very important for me to know.

Is PSN block the only thing that happens on a modded Vita? Can I recover the PSN service if I unroot the device? (I understand that the PSN account will still be blocked)
Is there anything else that I should know about?

Thanks in advance! :switch:

First up
H-encore isn’t its own CFW its a jailbreak tool used to install henkaku on 3.65, 3.67 and 3.68 OFW

And secondly
Its very unlikely you will get banned as the vita is at the end of its life however idk for sure if you will get banned or not I haven’t seen any reports on people getting banned because of h-encore and henkaku but for safety purposes i recommend using a disposable secondary PSN account

Thirdly
Henkaku is a temporary CFW meaning that if you reboot your system you will have to launch it via h-encore

However if you are on 3.60 or 3.65 you can install henkaku enso which is a permanent CFW

When henkaku is installed on 3.68 you can access psn normally like it wasn’t modded
If you are on 3.67 and lower go in system settings then henkaku settings then enable firmware spoofing (make sure the spoofing is set to 3.68)

Hopefully this should answer your questions

Here we go:

- Does HENkaku trigger the PSN store to ban my PSN account?
Henkaku doesn't trigger a ban, that's (that lame brand owner) servers job. Even less if you have Henkaku on a 3.68 OFW Vita.
- Does H-encore trigger the PSN store to ban my PSN account?
Read above and interpret it accordingly.

- Is Henkaku a temporary root?
Yes, you have to re-enable it at every boot/reboot, sleep mode is neither of the last ones.
- Is H-encore a permament root?
Yes, it will auto enable at every boot/reboot, all you have to do is enjoy freedom.

Does one of these two CFW'S disable functionality on my Vita that it will not able to recover from? <-- this one is very important for me to know.
You should define "functionality" in therms of what you need, actually both CFW enable a lot of functionalities that OFW will never have.

Thanks for your reply! Everything is crystal clear except for...

''Does one of these two CFW'S disable functionality on my Vita that it will not able to recover from? <-- this one is very important for me to know.''
--- Basically what I meant to say was, when I hack my Vita, will I lose functionality from it as when it came? Or none?

For example on the Samsung Galaxy S8, if you root the device, a chip inside will make a permanent burn-in mark on the motherboard, preventing you from using a certain service on the S8.
Does the Vita also have permanent disabilities if I mod mine?

Thanks! I haven't read much about it yet, but this is a nice extra edge of knowledge before I get into the actual process. So With H-encore I will be able to use the PSN store, until they ban me? (What the probably will not do).
