I know we have an Essentials thread, but I don't see Arcade games mentioned a lot... so I was wondering what were the best Arcade games? I got a 4000 Microsoft points as a late Christmas gift and I need something to blow it off on. I've already got:

Castle Crashers
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2
Braid

Any other games I should keep a lookout for? Or perhaps stuff other than games that I should purchase?

Castlevania and Banjo-Kazooie are very long console games that will keep you busy for a while and they are also very good.

If you're a fan of the original, you owe it to yourself to pick up Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix... mainly because of the way it looks, great remixed tunes, and near flawless online play.

And if you're a big classic gaming nut like I am, you may want to save a bit of cash and NOT buy the following games from the marketplace. Instead, pick up a compilation disc instead for a lot less, entitled Namco Museum Virtual Arcade (Linkypoophttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namco_Museum:_Virtual_Arcade#Namco_Museum_Virtual_Arcadehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namco_Museum:_Virtual_Arcade#Namco_Museum_Virtual_Arcade)

(Also, Youtube is your friend for "trying" [more like viewing] before you buy!

If you have a dreamcast, "acquire" a copy of Rez. great game.

I'm a big Lumines nut, Uno, Pac-Man Championship Edition(that game alone would be awesome to make a cabinet for), I heard Galaga Legions is really good if you are a fan of the original....

Get Carcassonne, if you're into board games. I spend way too much time playing it for some odd reason.

Generally speaking, why don't you just download demos of anything that sounds even remotely interesting to you? I love XBLA for that trial mode alone. I've discovered some gems that I might have missed otherwise and it help me avoid getting duds that looked good and sounded interesting, but turned out to be dull once I tested them.

Hello???

Bionic Commando : Re-armed!?!?

Why?

Hmmm...
The updated look still doesn't stray from the original "feel", it compliments it, the music is actually pretty well done and if you can get your hands on a nes emulator and boot up bionic commando you'll notice just how much they kept intact.

Try and finish the challenge rooms. I fucking dare ya...
