And why do they come in different memory sizes? Are they meant for something else besides DS?
They're used on many things, cellphones, cameras, portable electronics, though some can use full sized SD cards and not just MicroSD cards. And I really see no point in needing 4 GB for pictures or anything, but maybe you have lots of MP3s or videos for your portable electronics.
mainly just portable memory, and many devices allow them.
My dad's PDA/Cellphone uses MicroSD. They're also handy to store illegal files, if they come for you, just swallow it.
You can put them in cell phones and crap. If you seriously didn't know what else they were used for, I suggest you go out of the house, maybe hang out with some friends. I'm sure they use one for something!
You could tape it to your underarm right near your arm pit and no one would notice it if they did a one over on you, they usually check for bulk items, not something that tiny.
microSDs are mostly for cellphones but SDs are common in cameras etc.
Who needs all that memory for cell phones?
It's for cell phones that can play MP3, movies, take pictures, etc.
i think now microsd are more like made for the ds since anything prob over 2/4 gb would be for the ds
Nono, you hide them under your skin like with the laser in The Bourne Identity.
DS piracy is a very niche market. They are for people who use thier phones as MP3 players or movie players. Stuff like that.
Great for making home movies on your mobile phone
MicroSDs were made as a small but big storage space, it's just a coincidence that Slot-1s uses MicroSDs, not miniSD or even an SD
Nokia Nseries has space capacity of up to, what, 80GB, or 8GB? I forgot... so I think 8GB SDHC wasn't made spesificcaly for flashcarts, but flashcarts took advantage of them
I had a 2gb MicroSD card for my phone before I even heard of DS flashcarts.
Not really... smaller memory, easier schematics.
I use it for my Mp3 player.
psp with adapters or just for portable memory
...even less people use it on PSPs than they do on DSs. Because the PSP has another type of memory that is just as good and requires no adapters! imagine that!
And what do you mean by portable memory? Isn't a microSD card, because of the fact that you can pick it up and carry it to any other computer with extreme ease, portable?
i do, to use my phones full potential, i need a 16gb or bigger, 2gb just isn't enough(which is what i have at the moment)
