Hacking What am I doing wrong regarding converting saves?

So I play mainly off my G6 but occasionally I like to use my M3 to hold all my multiplayer games. Anyway so I take my G6 save lets call in "Animal Crossings.0" and rename it to "Animal Crossings.sav" then in the M3 game manager right click on the game Animal crossings, choose save manager, then click Write.sav and choose Animal Crossings. This should update my save file correct?

Well I ask this cause its not working...I assume the above is correct so if it is...maybe a tip why my saves arent converting and if its not...maybe someone can guide me in the right direction?

it should work if you highlight the appropriate .dat file in the save manager function. I've done it dozens of times between g6 and supercard to m3.
